I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....Am now translating that love to my own contemporary creations and using all the fine extraordinary antique and vintage materials, laces, trims, beads etc that I've collected for more than 30 years in these wonderful wearable pieces....along with the finest of hand sewing and one of a kind details. Everything I create is individually hand made solely by me and has the very best of my carefully hoarded private stash of superb old accents (I use ONLY vintage materials that are in pristine, freshly-cleaned condition---no deteriorating, too-aged or rotting pieces EVER) plus the finest of modern silks, cottons and wools that I can find.....resulting in a fabulous truly authentic vintage look piece. Impeccable professional workmanship and design are the hallmarks here!
This incredible, one of a kind piece with a nostalgic roses-and-lace theme was inspired by my love of antique Victorian, Edwardian and 1920's fashions and the delicate, beautiful beaded and jeweled bags that were made to accompany those styles....The body of this bag, which is fully reinforced and interlined for substantial dimension and sturdiness, is made of rich, gorgeous and very choice palest ivory, bisque and pink pure silk satin brocade, overlaid with layers of very fine antique lace, over which I've hand embroidered large, exquisite, delicate silk ribbonwork roses in shades of mauve-pinks and rose---then further embellishing this with hundreds of tiny 1920s pink crystal glass beads, plus vintage shimmering AB small sequins as well......In the center of this extraordinary purse is a vintage print on fine cotton of a beautiful Victorian lady in a gown of pink satin and roses, surrounded by pleated pale pink antique lace, antique gimp trim and more of the 1920's pink crystal beads, as well as an accent of a pink silk bow topped with lace and a tiny pink and green jeweled ornamet.
This has the most incredible, substantial gilded brass hinged frame, lavishly jeweled with luminous, hand set vintage rose-pink opaline glass cabochons; vintage glass pearls in brass settings, and some tiny exquisite pale mint green Swarovski settings topped with small pink opaline glass cabs which catch the light in a most extraordinary way.....AB rhinestone chain edges the frame as well as surrounding the large oval central rose pink opaline glass cabochons on both sides.....all forming a creation just astounding in detail and exquisite sparkliness! The back of the frame is identically jeweled as well; has a strong and sturdy brass locking top clasp....The bag chain features beautiful vintage filigree brass chain interspersed with vintage pink satin glass, pink AB glass and green AB glass beads. Lined in ivory silk.
Perfect size for the essentials: eyeglasses or cell phone, compact, and a lipstick! ---measurements of this beauty are as follows:
10 - 1/2" long from the top clasp to the bottom center; 8" at the widest point of the body. Inner opening across the top from side to side is about 5" across the front of the frame. The chain is 15" long.
