Gorgeous ivory 100% silk chiffon super-floaty, flowing, superb sheer late 70's-early 80's dress, this beauty is just scrumptious with its exquisite satin stripe sheer floaty layers....perfect for a beach wedding! Icinoo/The Silk Farm dresses were sold in only the top high-end stores back in the day. Such a timeless, beautiful and wearable style, with a full flaring skirt made up of an underskirt overlaid with two more flaring double silk bias overskirts. The bodice is also beautifully made with an ivory silk crepe sleeveless underbodice overlaid with two layered upper and lower capelike flounces forming butterfly sleeves. I'm a degreed and experienced textile scientist/antique garment restorer and seamstress, and I very, very carefully note any and all condition issues or repairs to every piece of antique/vintage clothing that I'm selling, so I can't stress enough that even if they're in pristine condition, remember they are all decades old and NOT new clothing, so if you desire modern perfection please don't purchase vintage! I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....I've translated that love to my own contemporary creations as well as now offering some choice pieces of my extremely large collection of vintage and antique beauties!
Measurements are as follows:
Bust max: up to about 37", definitely no larger than that.
Waist max: Elastic is good, stretches from 22" to 30"
Hip: underskirt up to about 37", no larger; overskirts are very full and flowy
Skirt length from waist is approx. 31", keep in mind this may fall shorter on longer depending on the size of one's hips
Length is 44"-45" from shoulder to hem; this fits and drapes SO beautifully, it's marked a 6. Mannequin is approx. 5' 6" and a modern size 6 (36-26-36); it fit the mannequin exactly so I would not recommend larger than those measurements.
Condition: Very good condition and clean, no rips, holes or damages, does have a few very very faint pale pink marks on the inner bodice lining (which doesn't show anyway), but I don't see any spots on the dress. Labels are intact, designer's "The Silk Farm Designed by Icinoo" label, plus marked a size 6. Original sash scarf in very good shape too.
