SOLD FABULOUS 100% silk chiffon super-floaty, flowing, superb shimmery late 70's-early 80's dress, this beauty is just scrumptious with its exquisite satin checked stripe sheer print of pinks and blues. Icinoo/The Silk Farm dresses were sold in only the top high-end stores back in the day. Such a timeless, beautiful and wearable style, with a slightly blouson waist and a full flaring skirt made up of an underskirt overlaid with two more flaring double silk overskirts. The bodice is also beautifully made with a sleeveless underbodice overlaid with two layered upper and lower capelike flounces forming butterfly sleeves. Silk Farm dresses are highly sought after by vintage clothing collectors because of the high quality of the silk fabric and wonderful flowing designs; this is a prime example and in excellent condition--even still has the original sash! I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....I've translated that love to my own contemporary creations as well as now offering some choice pieces of my extremely large collection of vintage and antique beauties!
This is a small dress very well suited to a petite person; measurements are as follows: Bust max: up to about 36", definitely no larger than that, this dress is snug on the mannequin
Waist max: Elastic is mostly stretched out, but it does have the original scarf sash.
Hip: underskirt up to about 36", no larger; overskirts are very full and flowy
Skirt length from waist is approx. 30", keep in mind this may fall shorter on longer depending on the size of one's hips
Length is 44" from shoulder to asymmetrical hem; this fits and drapes SO beautifully but is meant for a small size, it's marked a 4. Mannequin is approx. 5' 6" and a modern size 6 (36-26-36); it fit the mannequin, but rather snugly so I would suggest only for a 4 or smaller.
Condition: Other than the very narrow elastic at the waist no longer being stretchy I can't find a flaw on it, very good condition and clean, no spots, stains, rips, holes or damages, Just gorgeous! Labels are intact, designer's "The Silk Farm Designed by Icinoo" label, plus marked a (vintage) size 4. Original sash scarf in very good shape too.
