SOLD Another fantastic vintage couture dress with the most unusual, gorgeous pure silk chiffon fabric with a wonderful autumnal print in rich vivid ruby red, flame, burnt orange and touches of olive green. This sheer silk fabric is SO incredibly beautiful I just can't stop looking at it! Miles of chiffon in the very full gathered skirt (which is finely pleated over the hip area), dolman sleeves and a crossover/surplice neckline; has a wide matching silk-covered belt with an extra large oval buckle, and a separate, deep red slip. The styling, quality and finish of this dress is just impeccable right down to the matching red enameled eyelets on the belt! Timeless beauty and style that transcends decades---a perfect dance, vintage tea, wedding or garden party dress.

I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....I've translated that love to my own contemporary creations as well as now offering some choice pieces of my extremely large collection of vintage and antique beauties!
Measurements of this wonderful dress are as follows (it is marked a size 6):
Bust: The bodice is loose fitting because of the dolman sleeves and crossover front; I would suggest no large than a 37" bust should wear this.
Waist: stretches from 26" to 32"
Hip: 38" max, again, I would suggest no larger than a 36-37" hip. This has stitched-down pleats below the waist, just above the hipline.
Skirt length from waist is approx. 33"
Length is 49" from shoulder to hem; this fits and drapes SO beautifully on the body as you can see. Mannequin is a modern size 6/8, 36"-26"-36", and it fits perfectly on that size.
Condition: Excellent, no stains, spots or rips/holes, clean, no staining or underarm discoloration, I cannot find any issues. Beautiful and so vibrant! Labels intact, "Gillian" and a size 6/100% silk tag.
